The journey to make PetChatz device work again
This has been a long process, between finding time and digging into the device. After poking around the device, I was able to determine that the device has SSH active and accepts a root user with a blank password. Which is very interesting to have so little security (unless that was added after the company went under, I'm not sure). Another reason to not let these devices directly connected to the internet. Once I figured out the devices ran Linux (really old) and based on an IMX board. It made the path a bit easier. Though I ultimately ended up letting Cursor with Grok 4.7 medium do the work afterwards. Yes I know that v1 is "AI Slop" but it has given me a good base to start with for actually getting audio/video working both ways with minimal changes required on the end device.
